How i can add quicklaunches?
closer2thelung Featured By Owner 14 hours ago  Hobbyist General Artist
place shortcuts into C:\Rainmeter\Skins\ArcMenu\Folders\Quick Launch
sebulbathehut Featured By Owner Edited Jun 17, 2017  New Deviant
Is there a way to have more than 12 shortcuts?

I managed to make it show 13 blocks but the 13th is empty.
Is there a count limit somewhere that I could edit so that when generating the icons and links from the shortcuts folder it creates >12?

Really good skin by the way.
closer2thelung Featured By Owner 14 hours ago  Hobbyist General Artist
you would have to create a new entry for each meter in the skin and change parent and child count to 14
Firebird117 Featured By Owner May 7, 2017
Having an issue with the visualizer not showing up. I pressed EQ at some point and it disappeared and now it won't reappear even if i unload/load the visbubble thing in the main rainmeter control menu or if i refresh it.
closer2thelung Featured By Owner May 9, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
make sure it's not hidden behind any other skins. like a wallpaper skin for example. choose 'top most' position in the rainmeter control menu for visbubble and see if that helps. Try restarting rainmeter if that doesn't work.

Nice work! I have a problem with the Audio Visualizer. The visualizer randomly disappears when making changes to other stuff on the skin (like paths and stuff). I only manage to get the visualizer back by reinstalling the whole skin, refreshing or reverting changes won't work. I only touched the visualizer itself by changing the colours of the bars which doesn't make it disappear. The visualizer skin itself is still on my desktop and enabled, it just fails to show any bars.

Edit: Only thing that seemed to affect this was changing the audio player from itunes to spotify, but not sure if that's possible or was it just random.

Edit: Nope, not spotify. It works again if I enable the backup but disappears again after a couple refreshes.

sorry i can't recreate this problem. not sure why it's disappearing on you. try just restarting rainmeter if it happens again. other than that, i'm not sure. sorry.

AnneV1310 Featured By Owner Apr 28, 2017  New Deviant
how can i drag the menu? it is not in the center of my desktop right now and i want it to be. I can only drag the background but not the menu self, it now just leaves the menu behind and i can drag the background. Thanks in advance!
closer2thelung Featured By Owner Apr 28, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
Right click each part>manage skin>uncheck draggable. Then drag anywhere you want. Or manually input the x and y coordinates in the same window.

How do i add short-cuts onto the Quick Launch?

Awesome work by the way!
closer2thelung Featured By Owner Mar 23, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
Add shortcuts to Rainmeter\Skins\ArcMenu\Folders\Quick Launch then refresh the skin. Or you can specify a different shortcut folder in the settings menu of my skin>paths.

Cool. I was about to ask about Spotify not working with this awesome skin, but this fixes it beautifully!
Deadsoul911 Featured By Owner Mar 10, 2017
Awesome works!!! I really love it!!!
only an issue with the quick QUICK LAUNCH BAR, nothing in it, i try to add a shortcut into the quicklaunch folder (Rainmeter\Skins\ArcMenu\Folders\Quicklaunch) and then refresh the skin, without success...:(Waaaah!
Any idea??

closer2thelung Featured By Owner Mar 13, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
Hmm. Are they .LNK shortcut files? Also make sure the folder you are putting them in is Rainmeter\Skins\ArcMenu\Folders\Quick Launch (with the space bewteen the words). The folder should already exist. you don't have to create one.

If it's still not working, you can try this:
- right click on the quicklaunch bar>edit skin
- go to: ;===  Parent Measures  ===;
- delete this line of code in this section: Extensions="exe;lnk"
- refresh skin

this line of code is telling it to ignore any files that don't end in exe or LNK, so removing it will show any file that's in that folder.

If its STILL not working then send me a couple screen shots and i'll see if i can help more.
i-m-p-i-s-h Featured By Owner Mar 12, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
I'm having the exact same problem. The shortcuts are in the folder, but they won't show on the quick launch bar. I took a look through the codes to try and see if I could put them in through there, but I'm not fluent at all and couldn't figure it out.
The skin is wonderful, though, I really love it. It makes me want to listen to music and stare at my desktop all day. Good work.

Do you have a FAQ set up? Might be useful.
closer2thelung Featured By Owner Mar 13, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
Hey, see my reply above to try to fix your problem.

Thanks for the kind words. Glad you like it. It is a good idea to make a FAQ. I'll make one up when I get a chance.
TheVagrantKnight Featured By Owner Mar 14, 2017  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Hey man, I think I figured out why people are having trouble with the quick launch.

The thing is, under the [mQuickLaunchIcon] section, you used path=#BUILDPATH# (I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, I'm kinda new to rainmeter). Changing it to path=#QUICKLAUNCHPATH# solved the problem for me.

anyway, I'm really digging this skin. Thanks for making it public.
I also didn't expect you to be so active helping people. Truly amazing work!
closer2thelung Featured By Owner Mar 15, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
Not sure why you are seeing #BUILDPATH# but I definitely didn't put that in there. It's not showing for me when I check the code. You are correct though, it's supposed to be #QUICKLAUNCHPATH#. If anyone else is showing the same code please let me know. i'll try to figure out how that's happening.

And thanks :)

Is there a way to minimize the entire arc?
closer2thelung Featured By Owner Feb 28, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
In theory you could rig up a "minimize button" that hides all the Arc meters by adding a new group name to each ini file and using hide/show group bang on the "minimize button." I'm not sure why you would ever need to minimize though since it all sits on your desktop.
FishFiend Featured By Owner Feb 27, 2017
Is there any chance we could get support for google play desktop app?
I know its rarely used but its my main player and I've near busted my brain trying to work out how to get it working for the artist info
closer2thelung Featured By Owner Feb 28, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
It won't work. Here is a list  of players that rainmeter currently supports.
shinosaur08 Featured By Owner Feb 19, 2017
how can i get anything on the quick launch bar? do i just paste a shortcut on the folder? i did but nothing happened... please help
closer2thelung Featured By Owner Feb 20, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
place a shortcut into the quicklaunch folder (Rainmeter\Skins\ArcMenu\Folders\Quicklaunch) and then refresh the skin.
joxdiaz Featured By Owner Edited Feb 12, 2017
Hello there, really love your work. I'll say that this is the best skin I have ever seen for rainmeter. An excellent job that just gets better with you being so active. Thank you so much for your job. Also I need some help with the player...I'm using MusicBee on Windows 10, however I don't know if I missed something, but I just can't make it work. The problem itself is that the album art is not working.

Another thing I noticed...why aren't you using the Spotifyplugin? using that you will be able to retrieve the cover and progress bar from spotity, however you will still needing to use the nowplaying to change songs.
You can take as a reference the "Spotify player" skin.

Also, I would like to changer apps, to have another player taking the place of the artist info, maybe you can help me out with that :)

I also found another visualizer that seems to have more custumization, It´s named VisBubble.

Thanks for all.

I'm working on the code, I managed to let it work with spotify :) at least kind of... I'm not a programmer or anything like that so I don't really understand all the code, so I'll need more help in order to make it work. At this moment the player shows the art cover, artist, album, song, in both, fullscreen and regular. Also, I can change songs and pause using the appchanger buttons in both. Still need to know how to change the second tab of the appchanger in order to exchange the music info for another player and still needing to change the visualizer for the VisBubble.
closer2thelung Featured By Owner Feb 13, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
I've never used Musicbee before but according to the rainmeter docs you need ver 1.2 or higher.

As for Spotify support, the last few times I tried getting it to work (months and months ago) it was extremely hit and miss. I just tested it and I'm happy to see that it's more stable now. I will add full Spotify support and update soon.
joxdiaz Featured By Owner Feb 13, 2017
As for the spotify support, I can send you the ini file so you can check and improve what I did, in fact at this time it works only with spotify, because I don't know how to made an if so it runs with the plugin you need for each occasion.

Thanks for your fast reply, it's really appreciated.
closer2thelung Featured By Owner Feb 18, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
The new update is up. It's now fully compatible with Spotify as well as all the other supported players. I also integrated the VisBubble visualizer into the skin as well. Thanks for the suggestions!
joxdiaz Featured By Owner Mar 1, 2017
that's excellent, thanks for your really (I mean REALLY) fast work and improvements :D I´ll download it right away :)
closer2thelung Featured By Owner Feb 13, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
I appreciate the offer but I have finished adding full spotify support for the whole skin. Works with all other players still too ;)

There's a few other things I'm going to tweak that I've been meaning to before I update the file but it will be up within a few days.
awktori Featured By Owner Jan 28, 2017
i see you're very active here, and i really appreciate it! i'm kind of new to rainmeter, and i really love your skin :) however, i was wondering if there was a way i could put discord into the quick launcher. discord needs the nodes to run, and if i put all the notes in the quick launch folder, it makes them all icons. would there be a way for me or you to possibly make .dll files not show on the quick launcher as an icon? i've tried putting them in a folder inside the quick launch folder, but that didn't work. unfortunately, the application and all the nodes need to be in the same folder (i'm not very good with that kind of stuff so it was news to me lol) thanks for your time and commitment to making a great skin. i would love to give you a donation if there was anyway possible to do that!
closer2thelung Featured By Owner Edited Jan 28, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
There are a couple ways you could try.

It sounds like you have the exe file of the program in the quicklaunch folder. Try adding just a shortcut of the program and leaving all the dll and other files where they were in their original folder. This would be the easiest way but if that doesn't work then you can edit the code of the quicklaunch bar to exclude those dll files:

- Right click on the quicklaunch bar (not directly on an icon)
- Choose edit skin
- it should open in notepad
- scroll down to [mQuickLaunchIcon]
- add the following line of code (what is in bold) underneath where it says Count=13: Extensions="exe;lnk"
- this line is saying only the file types in the quotations will be shown. you can add more file types if you want. just separate them with a ; (for example: "exe;lnk;jpg;txt;url")
- So that section will now look like this:
Measure= Plugin
- save the notepad file
- right click on the quicklaunch bar
- choose refresh skin

If you have any questions let me know.

And thanks for the kind words. Glad you like it! Your offer to donate is super generous! You can donate to my paypal email ( if you like, but I'm just happy to share this skin with so many people :) (Smile)

Hey, how can I actually get applications into the quick launch tab? I drag things into the folder but when I refresh rainmeter they disappear
closer2thelung Featured By Owner Jan 16, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
Make sure they are going into "ArcMenu\Folders\Quick Launch". If they are and it's still not working send me a screen shot of them in the folder and the skin not showing.

Hey, i wanted to ask how i can interact with the play Button etc. when im using anything else than Itunes, becaus when i change the program in the settings, it goes back to iTunes.
Anyone can help me?
closer2thelung Featured By Owner Jan 10, 2017  Hobbyist General Artist
Go to settings menu>music>set music player>type in the player you are using (wmp, spotify, itunes etc...) then hit enter. Then hit save and exit. should now work with your player. go to the link (i) beside 'set music player' in the settings menu to see the list of supported players.
